I once heard a song called “Dedication to My Ex” and as someone who constantly reflects on past experiences, it always made me think. Much of my reflection is about romantic relationships, particularly those that didn’t end well. As an Artist myself I’ve often wondered if I would ever create something similar, but I have decided not to. I could write about how unfortunate it is things didn’t work out between us, how I wanted it to work. I might write how I much missed them…or how I didn’t ... View the Post
My Sanity-Saving Thought to Give Myself Grace
The thing about giving grace is that something bad has to happen for you to even consider it. I’m not even going to lie to you. I have been a total mess lately. Just when I thought I was getting myself together, I totally dropped the ball on a lot of things… housework, exercising, eating right, staying on a budget... Like I said, I am a mess. I have no idea how I am going to recover. Often times, I beat myself up about things, saying “This house is a mess,” or “Why do I keep forgetting to ... View the Post
Breakups: Less Questions, More Acceptance
As the old song goes, “breaking up is hard to do”. Being the person who gets broken up with is even harder. The hardest. One of the most devaluing things I’ve ever experienced is to have someone tell me that after getting to know me, they’ve decided they no longer want to continue a relationship with me. The fundamental question is always something along the lines of “…but don’t you like what you see?” You immediately wonder why apparently you aren’t what they’re looking for. The next ... No Good Thing Will God Withhold
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withheld from those who walk uprightly." (Psalms 84:11) I was cleaning up around the house the other day. While cleaning, I just started thinking about God and His faithfulness that He has towards me and His people in general. I thought of how even on my best day, He has been more loyal to me than I have been to myself. No matter how much I say I love myself, His love always trumps that. Some time ... View the Post
Embracing Your Distinction
Even after being a Christian for quite some time I am still in total awe of all that Christ Jesus has done for you and I. Not only did he die for our sins but he granted us complete citizenship into a divine kingdom. This kingdom expresses the full glory of God in all of His divine intelligence and creative powers, manifested in a dynamic fashion of raw beauty and unmatched grandeur. God created us with distinction... Not only have we been granted citizenship into a divine kingdom but bestowed ... View the Post
Learn to Be Still
"Be still and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:10) This is one of those scriptures that sticks out to me. I had to gain an understanding of it and what it means in prayer time with God. It's vital to be still in the presence of God and allow Him to speak to you. I had to work on being still in the presence of God and wait until he responded back. There are times when the Lord encourages me right in the moment of stillness. Whenever I'm sad, angry or allow my feelings to get the best of me, He is ... View the Post
