Today was very different, and it was one of those days where I started to worry about my future. I mean, who doesn’t? I believe it is a natural thing for a lot of us to do.
I held a long conversation with God, and I began to talk with Him about my future. I told Him that I wasn’t sure of what He called me to do and that I wanted to know the plans He had for my life. Later on, I was led to watch a video of how we should focus on our today.
It hit me hard, because I spent all that time ranting to the Lord about my future, and suddenly He hits me with, “Just focus on what I want you to do today.” I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders!
Many times we want God to let us in on our future plans like, “Who you’ll marry? When will you finish school? Will you ever be a mother?” We have tons of questions we’re asking God, but we’re forgetting about our today.
Maybe the Lord wants you to minister to your classmate or someone at your job. Or maybe He wants you to work at a small grocery store or even volunteer.
I was too focused on my future, that I forgot about my right NOW.
God wants you to make purpose out of our current season. Whatever the Lord has planned for you it is good. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
There’s no need to worry about tomorrow, or worry about your future. God spoke it, and it shall come to pass. I know you’re probably wondering what you’ll be doing in the next 5 years, but focus on where you are right now.
You might not have that job, that car, that degree, your husband, or that ministry right now, but be thankful anyway. Begin to ask God what he wants you to do TODAY.
