What better way to spend the first weekend of summertime Chi than on a yacht on Lake Michigan? A few of our favorite Epic Fab Girls came out to play at Fame Enterprise‘s “A Taste of Fame: Midnight Fireworks Yacht Party” on Saturday, June 24th in Chicago… and here’s what we learned:
1. Networking doesn’t have to be stuffy.
The second we stepped foot on the Anita Dee yacht, you could feel positive vibes all around. Before the sun went down, you could see the crowd engaged in conversations with each other that didn’t feel or look stuffy.
The atmosphere made room for a great networking experience, and the beautiful thing was that it didn’t feel like networking. Among new and familiar faces, our girls were able to chat with some of Chicago’s dopest female entrepreneurs and creatives. We learned that being personal was a great way to engage with those we came across, instead of having business-focused conversations. The less stuffy we were, the better connections and interactions we made, making it easy to have engaging conversations.
2. Werk hard, play harder.
Now, I know it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of having a never-ending to-do list and passionate ambition. BUT… it’s summertime, and sometimes you just have to live a little… You deserve it!
When it’s time to actually slow down to enjoy yourself, you should go at it 100%. “A Taste of Fame” provided the perfect opportunity to do just that. From having the amazing DJ MileHigh creating the best summer vibes, to the breathtaking Chicago skyline, to the fireworks that set off the end of the night, there was no other option but to go all in and let your hair down.
The music was live and the crowd was vibing more and more as the night went on. As career-focused, hard-working entrepreneurs and professionals, we found immense value in being able to slow down, enjoy ourselves, and be worry-free, even if just for a night. As hard as you work, you deserve to play harder!
3. Always go out with an unexpected bang
The night ended with a bang: Fireworks, or so we thought. As the fireworks lit up the sky, the yacht was then flooded with models and a live photoshoot. We thought the fireworks would be the highlight of the night, but the live photoshoot definitely brought a creative twist that ended up being a major highlight of the night.
This is a great takeaway because often times we can do what other people expect of us by staying in the lane of “ordinary”, but we have the opportunity to create extraordinary experiences. Don’t be afraid to do something different and keep your audience on their toes with new, refreshing, creative content that keeps them coming back for more!
