The light at the end of the tunnel was not what I wanted. Have you ever woke up and felt like it was going to be a good day, despite of other things going on in your life? Most of those “other things” we wish we could just forget and move past. Only to be confronted with the disappointment of your reality. Your reality was not what you hoped for but it was the card that you were dealt.
I’ve felt like that a many of times. Every time I would ask myself, what did I do wrong? I thought long and hard to try to find the common denominator in the situations. WHAT. WAS. IT.? What was I doing wrong? I would always place blame on myself when something went hay-wire. Anybody else do that? Only to find out that my biggest flaw was putting my faith, my happiness, my joy, in the wrong people. People disappoint on a daily basis but I know someone who never disappoints. JESUS. But at times why do I feel like I put my trust in those people more than I do him? I spend more time talking to them than I do him. Why is that? He gave me the greatest gift ever, LIFE!
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God gave his life, a big cost, for me, so why can’t I give him a few minutes of my life, daily, at no cost? Then the question comes…”What can I give a person that already has everything they need?” I know you’ve probably thought of this question during the holidays when you’re trying to buy gifts to show your love. GREAT NEWS ALERT COMING NEAR YOU: God doesn’t need all of that. He just simply wants some 1 on 1 time with you. That time comes through your sincere, heartfelt prayers. Jeremiah 33:3 says, ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
If you’re looking for answers, God’s got them. If you need peace in your life, God’s got you. All he asks is that you just talk to him about your situation. Most of us want to become wiser or we’re just nosey (lol), talk to God, He’s going to spill all the tea! God understands and He knows how to make every situation in your life alright. And if you don’t know what to say, a simple thank you Lord or help God, is always a start. A simple prayer that I like to sometimes start my prayer time off with is, “Thank you God for what you’re going to do, for what you’ve done and most importantly for who you are.” Having daily prayer time with God can make all the difference in your life. Try it, try Him!
The light at the end of the tunnel was not always what I wanted, but it was what God knew I needed through my prayers. It was Him. I just needed a little more of Him to get through this roller coaster we call LIFE. And guess what? It was FREE!
Say this prayer:
God, thank you for being almighty. Thank you for giving me strength when I can’t find my own. Thank you for the confidence that you have given me. Most of all God, thank you for never leaving me. God, I pray that I find the time daily just to have 1 on 1 time with you. If I can’t always find the right words, I pray that you will feel the sincerity of my heart, God. Thank you for being the light. I pray that you help not only me, but those around me draw near to you through prayer. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
